Collectors Guide to the German Gew 88 Commission Rifles   A valuable resource of information, history & data on the German 1888 Commission Rifle. This book is a must have for any collector or others interested in Gew 88. Written by one of the worlds foremost authors on military firearms, Paul S. Scarlatta. I immediately purchased this book upon release in June, 2007 & highly reccomend this book that is very detailed, in depth & includes hundreds of photographs.

Commission Rifle    A discussion group organized and put together by Gew88.com member A1 Coyote. Commission Rifle is dedicated to photographes and discussion of the historical significance of 1888 Commission System Rifles: Gewehr 88, Karabiner 88, & Gewehr 91, and the Imperial German soldiers who were armed with them from inception in 1888 to the end of Imperial Germany in 1918.

Al Nelson.  Some of the most difficult parts to find for Commission Rifles are bolt heads, ejectors & extractors. Al Nelson has reproduced these hard to find parts. You can also purchase cast boolits for reloading for the gew 88 & coming soon will be new stocks.

Numrich.   Here you can order a variety of parts for the 1888 Commission Rifle as well as download a schematic. Numrich carries & sells thousands of parts for virtually every type of milsurp & various other firearms, bayonets & accessories.

Springfield Sporters.  Another great supplier of curio & relic parts with several gew 88 parts in stock at lower prices. They also carry many other mauser parts.

Old Western Scrounger  Here you can purchase nearly complete barrelled recievers of Gew 88. They're old, beat up & dirty, however, should you order on of their 5 packs or 12 packs of these old Gew 88, you'll certainly end up with at least one good barrelled reciever & several spare parts for your Gew 88 restoration.

Discussion Forums.

Parallax Bills.  A great collection of people can be found at this C&R Milsurps forum with a section devoted to Gew 88. Much of the info I obtained on Gew 88 was learned via reading older posts there as well as interactive discussion with various members of this forum, some of whom are extremely knowledgable & provide a wealth of valuable facts.

Gun Boards.  One of the oldest gun related discussion boards, categorized into various sections relevant to different types of firearms & milsurps. Although they do not have a Gew 88 category, they do have a section devoted to black powder cartridge rifles where Gew 88 are discussed from time to time. Gew 88 can sometimes be found in their trader section.

Ebay.   Gew 88 parts show up frequently here. Register for free to bid on hard to find gew 88 parts & millions of other items worldwide. You can even sell stuff you don't need or want anymore.

Gun Broker .   One of the oldest gun auctions on the net, this large auction often has Gew 88 up for auction. Registration is free & it is also free to list items for sale.

Auction Arms.  Another great gun auction site. This is where I purchased my first 2 commission rifles & the auction of my choice as this is where I sell my own parts & other items.
